Suggestions for Implementation
This WebQuest is designed to be used in groups of two. It is designed to be used with 4th and 5th graders currently working on a live, daily, student produced broadcast. I believe the lesson would be appropriate for middle school students and perhaps even high school students. To properly use the formative assessment within this WebQuest, you must have a Google account. Google Forms transfers information directly to a Google Sheet to make reviewing data more simple. However, if you do not have access to Google Apps for Education, simply provide students with a paper copy to conduct formative assessment. |
Tips:
-All students should wear headphones.
-WOW videos notes are easier to complete using regular paper pencil. * or use an iPad (see below)
-Spend a few moments reviewing the notes page and explain that it will be used for reference as they create their own video.
-Encourage your students to takes notes as they see techniques they like and techniques they want to avoid.

Suggestions for Modification
Differentiation:
-Allow students to complete the WebQuest using an iPad instead of a desktop computer.
-Share the WOW video notes Google Doc with students to provide an option for notes to be completed via students' Google accounts (perhaps on an iPad?).
-Permit students to incorporate a digital avatar, such as a Voki, instead of actors.
-Extend learning time by suggesting students to access content from home
-Challenge students to incorporate screencasting
Universal Design:
-Encourage students who would benefit from audio support to click the Natural Reader links included throughout the WebQuest
-Provide written text of both podcasts (found in Activity 1 and Evaluation) for students who struggle with absorbing audio material
